Expressfly SUK-31
Expressfly pilot and designer Richard Boyd , has agreed with expressfly to produce his designed SUK-31 .
The Suk will be released shortly and will be sold only through expressfly .
The Suk is constructed using Extrupor and is CNC machine cut for a precision build . The Suk is a highly aerobatic indoor plane and Richard designed this plane with aeromusical flying in mind.
We will be offering the SUK as a white only plane , this will let the proud owner personalise the plane to their own colours .

DS building instructions
I got a few DS-Birdy’s from Andreas Decker, to test on the slopes of the Emerald Isle. To help with the building, I did a quick translation of the funny words.
Test pilot of choice is of course Richard. (If you like a Birdy of your own, give him a shout!)
And an example of a Birdy-DS in action…

Birdy-DS building instructions
I found a good series of pics that go with the building of this nice little bird on :
http://www.rc-network.de/forum/showthread.php?t=161530
This appears to be more or less the official thread for the build, as there are no images in the official manual.
The translation is interspersed with my own experience and observations. I suggest you read the lot before gluing the first bits. Try to understand what is suggested, rather than blindly following the sequence.
A very important point: DO look at your radio-gear, and make sure all the bits will fit. You don’t have a lot of room to play with! (Saying that, I used a Spektrum 6100 RX, and 2 DS47′s and a 2 cell lipo, and still had space to spare in the fuse.)
You can download the pdf here: DS building instructions.

Expressfly
The picture above was taken during a demo in a local stadium. You can see more pics of the event over here.
This was the first time a RC-Factory Su-29 was flown in public in N-Ireland. According to Richard, it’s FUN! Even in the very turbulent conditions, the plane handled well, as did the other 2 Flashes form the same stable. For events like this, these are ideal planes.
The demo was attended by pilots from the following clubs:
- Belfast Model Flyingclub (control line)
- Banbridge aeromodelling Club
- Ballymoney club
- Dungannon modelflying Club
- Langford Lodge
- NIMSA, glider club of Northern Ireland
Organised by Bill Scott from the NIAA as part of the Classic Show at Ballymena.

Emax Micro servos
Emax 12g metal geared micro servo are fantastic servo,we are using them for our park flyer planes like the RC-Factory EPP Flash , Yaks and now the SU-29. We also used them on our Windrider Fox glider and even in 30mph winds the servos remain rock solid.
3 servos will cost a little over £18 so it is fantastic value from expressfly.

Blaster 2 lite DLG build
Expressfly kindly supplied me with a New Blaster 2 lite DLG glider.
The Blaster 2 Lite is a rudderless lite version of my old Blaster 2 plus the aileron servos are now installed in the pod rather than the wing!
Instructions were not yet in circulation so it was an assembly of experience.
DL50 Discus Launch Glider

DL50 HAND LAUNCH GLIDER
DL50 HAND LAUNCH GLIDER
Expressfly recently acquired the first batch of Mountain Models DL50 Gliders. The order was pre sold due to the high interest in this fun , yet intermediate competion model. Expressfly pilots have enjoyed the experiance of building and flying the DL50 , so much so that we have placed a new order and now will be selling the DL50 to the wider public. Flying the DL50 glider is so thrilling and rewarding , we fly in a variaty of places and this is really the secret about the DL50. Flying the DL50 at our flying site , we were getting 2-4 minutes in the air(this is winter flying) summer time brings termals and flight times increase. On a small slope (embankment type) times are as long as you like ! Great fun !

No doubt the Flying Dutchman will add his building experiences soon?
CLIK 2.0

Beautiful New Clik 2
This is the Clik 2.0 from RC-Factory , now it is available through expressfly UK .
Some noticable changes, wing span is now 810mm ( Clik 1 =800mm) also the wings have now a wider tip ( reduce wing twitch) . Redesigned brakes on the ailerons are set at 60 degrees ! The Geladipac Fus strenghteners have now holes down the full lenght, this will save a few precious grams . With a standard build the Clik 2.0 will weigh in at 120-140g .
Lithuanian F3P Championships 2009
I was honored to be invited to the 2009 Lithuanian Open F3P Competition. The venue for the event was a fantastic sports centre in the town of Kaslu Roda, situated about 120Km from the capital city of Vilnius.
Snow was on the ground and temperatures were -10 degrees C, so it was a change from our milder temperatures at home in Northern Ireland.
From leaving my home in Dungannon it took me 9 hour to reach Vilnius. On arrival my friend Donatas was waiting and it was off to his home and a bite to eat and then to the Friday night indoor flying.
These boys know how to enjoy their flying. I was very pleased to be flying one of the Worlds best indoor pilots planes, the Deluxe and SUltimate by Donatas Pauzuolis. This really was a very kind offer, as he also was flying the same planes in the competition and if I had a smashed, them Donatas was also out of the competition.

On first impressions, I was amazed at the professional way in which this event was organized and also the standard of flying and equipment. The pilots had the best of the best equipment! FlightPower, Vytas motors, Hacker, AXI, Castle Creations, Dymond, Hitec and JR servos.
I was greatly surprised to find out that I had placed 2nd in the Aeromusical and 3rd in the F3P-A schedules. I had spent 4 months preparing my AM and the judges seemed to like the music and flying.
Now the pressure was really on! All the competitors stayed at the local Hotel and what a night of fun we had.
Sunday was finals day. Flying started at 10am.
The cameras were in place from Lithuanians top broadcasting company, (the news report can be viewed here, you need to FastForward a bit.)
I didn’t fly as well on the final day as I would have wished for , but I was still very pleased . I returned to Northern Ireland after 5 days in Lithuania a very proud man.
The Federation of Aero modelers Lithuania have invited me to there National Competition weekend 2009 plus next years 2010 indoor F3P Championships.
I really am looking forward to returning to Lithuania.
